Introduction to Module 2

Welcome to Module Two. This module focuses on “Resident’s Rights and Intimacy” and aims to increase your awareness and understanding of the complexity of practice in supporting resident autonomy and personhood.

You will view 4 short films that explore the relationship between two residents and by reflecting on the films you will be able to:

• Demonstrate an understanding of resident rights within residential aged care
• Reflect on the complexity of supporting the rights of older people and the way policy can influence practice
• Analyse your attitudes towards sexuality and sexual expression in older people
• Identify additional resources to enhance your learning

Please note that the films are to provide a stimulus for reflection and discussion and not intended to necessarily represent ‘best practice’.
